FAQ

Sizing, materials, washing, delivery and returns — answered properly.

Sizing & fit

[Confirm the real sizes and weight ranges] As a rule, a cat should be able to turn around inside without touching all four walls at once, but still reach a wall from the middle. If your cat sleeps stretched out rather than curled, size up.

Send us a photo and a rough weight and we will tell you which one — including if the honest answer is neither.

Usually, but not immediately. Most cats need one to two weeks before they commit to anything new. Put it where they already sleep rather than where you would like them to sleep, and leave it alone.

Some cats never will, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise. Getting the size right is the single biggest factor — send us a photo and a weight before you order and we will tell you which one to get.

The sides are low enough to step over rather than climb, which suits older or arthritic cats. Kittens are fine too, though they will outgrow the smaller size faster than you expect.

Two cats who already sleep touching will share the larger size. Two cats who merely tolerate each other will not, and buying one bed for both is usually how you end up buying two.

Materials & care

[Confirm exact materials — shell fabric, frame, hardware, lining composition] Broadly: a rigid frame wrapped in tight-woven canvas, solid brass corner caps and fittings, and a removable cushion lined in shearling.

The cushion lifts out and washes cold on a wool cycle, then dries flat — not in a dryer, which will felt and shrink the pile. The case wipes clean with a barely damp cloth. No solvents, no oil, no soaking.

[Answer this precisely — real shearling, or a synthetic. Do not fudge it; it is a material claim and customers will ask.]

The canvas is woven tightly enough to resist casual kneading, and the cushion is the part designed to take the wear. It is a bed, not a scratching post — a cat determined to strip it will eventually succeed, and that is not covered by the guarantee.
